Are You Ready For 2023?

Happy New Year!

We made it for a new year, That’s amazing. Let’s be grateful that we are alive and starting a new year full of positive vibes and opportunities. A new year is mostly connected to new resolutions and people usually make millions of jokes that these resolutions never happen to be accomplished. Let’s change that mindset and create goals that actually work for us. How to do that?

1. Be optimistic and yet grateful.

It is important to be grateful for all the things you have and all the great people on your life who supported to be who you are while you are aiming to achieve new goals. Many years ago one of my teachers told me that most people overestimate what they can achieve in one year and underestimate what they can accomplish in a decade or two or three. This means that most people are optimistic about achieving big goals in a short period of time but they are not disciplined enough to be realistic and wise to set long-term goals and plan to make them happen.

2. Measure your success.

As Warren Buffett says, “What gets measured gets managed.” Get used to the habit of revising your targets consistently while rating your performance and outcomes. To get the best results, you need to get the habit of measuring yourself more often. The more you measure, the better and more precise you can manage your progress towards success.

3. Always plan ahead of time.

To ensure a successful resolution, start by creating an action plan outlining detailed steps with concrete deadlines for achieving your goal. Include the consequences of not meeting those goals as motivation to stay on track and remember to develop a backup strategy just in case things don’t go as predicted. Precision is vital when it comes to sticking with resolutions. Time management, planning, and setting realistic expectations can help you accomplish your goals.

If you are looking for a new challenge to develop your skills this year, it is time to decide to take your leadership skills to the next level especially if you are a UAE national aged 18-38, you have a great opportunity to join Emirates Youth Leadership 2023 program.
